Am I eligible to receive services from Good Beginnings of Sullivan County?

If you are expecting a child or have a child and live in Sullivan or lower Grafton County, New Hampshire you are eligible to receive services. Simply give us a call at 603.542.1848 or 1.877.287.7144. You can also stop by our offices at the Diana Love Center for Children and Families, 169 Main St. in Claremont, NH.

 

Do I have to pay for your services?

Good Beginnings of Sullivan County may bill your health insurance for the services we provide. If you don’t have health insurance, grant funding is available to cover the cost of services. No family is turned away due to inability to pay.

 

Do I need a referral from my doctor to enroll in your program?

We do not require a referral from your doctor but your health insurance company may require a physician order.

 

Why should I enroll in the Good Beginnings program?

Raising children is complicated, stressful and challenging for all mothers and fathers, and every parent can use a helping hand at times. We provide families with information, guidance and support to help parents have healthy babies and to raise healthy, happy children.

 

How often do you visit?

Depending on the needs of the family, home visits are usually scheduled weekly or bi-weekly.

 

Do visits have to take place in my home?

No, visits can take place at the Diana Love Center for Children and Families in Claremont or at another place in the community.

 

What kind of training do home visitors have?

Good Beginnings of Sullivan County employs registered nurses, parent educators and mental health counselors to provide home visits. We also train volunteers to serve as mentors to new mothers.

 

Are the services you provide confidential?

Yes. Please see our notice of privacy practices. A signed release form must be on file in our office before information about you or family may be shared, with few exceptions.

 

How are Good Beginnings' programs funded?

Good Beginnings of Sullivan County receives funding from businesses, individuals, community organizations and private foundations with a commitment to supporting the well-being of New Hampshire children and families. The State of NH contracts with Good Beginnings to provide specific public health and prevention services to families in Sullivan and lower Grafton counties. The agency also receives funding from Grafton and Sullivan Counties. Good Beginnings of Sullivan County is a NH Medicaid provider and receives reimbursement for specific physician-ordered services provided to pregnant women and children. Second Beginnings Children’s Boutique and the Born to Run 5K provide additional support for the agency mission.

 

Is my contribution to Good Beginnings tax-deductible?

Good Beginnings has been designated by the IRS as a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. A contribution to Good Beginnings is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Please consult your accountant or tax advisor for more information about the benefits of making charitable contributions.
