Good Beginnings depends on volunteers to help us to achieve our mission. A team of 30 volunteers assists the staff in a variety of positions. All volunteers must complete a volunteer application and a criminal record background check prior to beginning volunteer work at Good Beginnings. Volunteers received pre-service and on-the-job training, depending on the position.

Volunteer positions:

Administrative Assistant: Answers telephone calls, copying, filing, data entry, etc.
Child Care Assistant: Provides childcare during parent education and support groups.
Retail Assistant/Cashier: Assists customers in Second Beginnings Children’s Boutique, sorts and washes donations, cleaning, pricing and display of merchandise.
Volunteer Mentor: Assists new mothers following the birth of their baby. Provides support and help to new parents during weekly home visits. Volunteers provide help for 3-6 months after a baby is born.
